We're called to rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. We're good at rejoicing, but can be awkward around the weepers. Those who weep together carry each other's burdens, share the sorrow and bind their hearts together in love.

Lament is the practice of bringing our sorrow to God. It's part of an honest spiritual struggle where we can vocalize our pain and wrestle with our sorrow. Lament avoids trite answers and quick solutions, progressively moving us toward deeper worship and trust.

Our study is based on the book: Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy: Discovering the Grace of Lament by Mark Vroegop, and the books of Psalms and Lamentations.

We meet at the church office (1355 Morningside Ave, north of Sheppard) for three Tuesday evenings.
