Jesus said, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." He also told us that we are his friends if we obey his commands. Our world today claims that friendship is only good if it comes naturally, that it is deficient in intimacy compared to marriage, and that it is easy to maintain. We are commanded to love our brothers and sisters in the church, by serving them and knowing them intimately. This is real friendship, not like the world's definition.
